As you know, Austin is a regular on the show and today he's back to give us an update on the race for Senate in Missouri.
Austin is not only running to beat the incumbent but also against the establishment GOP candidate. This is exactly the race I want to bring light to as we approach the primaries.

Yes, it's an odd title for today's show, but I think I can tie all three of these news stories together into podcasting magic!
You have probably heard by now (because nobody in the media can stop talking about it) that Bill Cosby has been found guilty on three different counts of sexual assault.
On the drive into the studio today I was thinking back to the 1980's. If someone from the future was standing in front of you in 1988, during the hight of The Cosby Show, and told you, "In 2018, at the age of 80, Cosby will be convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman" I think every one of us would say BS!
Cosby has gone from being the poster child for what a father and family could look like in the black community to a liar and rapist. That's nuts!
I talk a lot about success. How much work it takes to get to the top of the game in any industry and how the best never rest on their past accomplishments.
Regardless of what you think of Tom Cruise the man doesn't take a break. He risks it all (literally) every day to be the best in his field. You gotta respect that. It's a lesson we can all benefit from, and I wanted to take time to share it with you today.
The world is full of people who will make you promises they can't keep. What I hope you take away from today's show is that YOU alone are responsible for your future. Succeed or fail the outcome is on you. Be cautious of anyone who promises you a deal that seems too good to be true.

What is the culture war? I was recently asked why I don't spend more time discussing it.
I have to admit I feel like I spend an hour every day fighting against people and ideas that will destroy our country and our way of life.
But I guess because I don't use the term "culture war" some people don't get it or worse yet they don't understand what it is themselves.
"Culture War" is typically a term used by Christian conservatives to describe what they believe is the moral degradation of society. Gay rights, short dresses even rock & roll were at one time singled out as signs American values and culture were under attack.
I've never found much value in fighting a culture war. That kind of virtue signaling I leave to people like Tomi Lahren who lack the education and intelligence necessary to make a defensible case for change based more than emotion.
But I think it's worth addressing since it came up so I'll talk a little about it today.

You what to know how messed up our government is? Keep reading.
Before leaving is post-Comey shared three personal memos documenting conversations he had with Trump. Two of those documents were unclassified and one was classified. Comey went to the effort of redacting the classified portion of the memo of concern even though he had the power to declassify the information of interest in that memo.
Now that he's left the FBI someone else has changed the classification of one of the memos now claiming its content is classified.
The Justice Department is now looking into the issue to determine if Comey shared classified information with his friend.
Now keep in mind the information WAS NOT classified when he shared it but apparently, he can still be charged if the classification is changed later. (yeah WTF? That's what I said)
This is our legal system today.

If there was ever a new story that deserved to be omitted the headlines, it's the admission by Michael Cohen's lawyers that Sean Hannity is a client.
There is some question as to whether or not Hannity is actually a client but even if he is what does that mean? Answer: Absolutely nothing.
As a regular listener of this show, you know there is no love lost between Hannity and myself. But this is rediculous. Rachel Maddow would have you believe this is a bombshell. MSNBC is using terms like "shocked" and "floored" to describe the courtroom admission.
In the world of real journalism, this is a non-story. Unfortunately, real journalism is dead in America.

So, Trump was nice enough to wait until I was making dinner to drop bombs on Syria, so I didn't have time to talk about it on Friday. So today I'll give you my thoughts on that fiasco.
Great discussions today plus a very exciting announcement at the top and bottom of the show.

It seems ridiculous to even ask. "Of course robots are not people!" But, since it's Friday, I thought I'd spend a little time challenging the idea.
While I will admit, robots are not human the question about life remains. What constitutes life? If we're talking about humans or animals, we might use the standard of a heartbeat which I have used many times when discussing infants in the womb. But is this the only way to classify life?
I want to dig into this a little and have a bit of a philosophical discussion. It's something we don't do much on the show, but given the fact that the EU is proposing giving legal status to robots it seems worthy of discussion.
Smash cut to the Russian defense minister who, in a statement said, "We have evidence that proves Britain was directly involved in organizing this provocation."
But again, if the Russians have evidence, they're not sharing it. So who's telling the truth? Probably no one.
Enjoy the weekend! Don't forget to share!

I haven't Jeffrey in a few years, and it was so great to have him in the studio today.
Jeffrey is a WEALTH of knowledge on everything from Bitcoin to foreign policy, and I always learn something after talking with him.
Today we cover a variety of issues ranging from the future of Bitcoin to Trump's economic, foreign policy. I know you're going to get a lot out of it.

If you remember, back in February, on this very show I reported on a little-known statement by Secretary of Defense Mattis that the US had "no evidence" Assad used chemical weapons against his people.
That didn't stop them from launching an attack on a Syrian airbase just after Trump took office.
Today we find out the US is again accusing Assad of using chemical weapons and again has no evidence to back it up.
Apparently, there was an attack on a rebel-controlled area of Syria as Assad works to root out the last vestiges of resistance, but there appear to be no evidence the attack used chemical weapons.
Even Fox News is being cautious, referring to an "alleged chemical attack."
And let us not forget, this accusation comes on the heels of a meeting between Turkey, Iran, and Russia over how best to stabilize Syria.
From the beginning, the US has been anything but a good faith actor, and this latest accusation is far too convenient to dismiss out of hand.

If you've been listening to this show for the past few months, yesterdays announcement did not come as a surprise.
Let's review the history...
- Trump decides to impose $50 Billion in tariffs as retaliation against Chinese intellectual property theft.
- China immediately responds with $50 Billion of new tariffs on US goods including soybeans and cars.
- Trump responds by asking for an additional 100 Billion in tariffs on Chinese goods.
So what's next? Well, you can expect China to respond in kind. America has no leverage. It's the reason none of the tariffs have gone into effect yet. China knows this. The question is, who's going to blink first?
If nobody blinks, we'll be looking at an all-out trade war, and both parties are doing a lot of saber-rattling.
Finally, The DJI is off almost 600 points as of this writing and Trump thinks all this pain will be good for us. Let's hope he's right.
